What are Dental Veneers?
Dental veneers are designed to completely transform your smile. They are ideal for people who are unhappy with the way their teeth look or who have staining, discoloration, small chips and cracks, or gaps between their teeth. Dr. Andrew Turchin is able to fit you for beautiful, natural-looking veneers that cover imperfections that would otherwise require more extensive work to fix. Veneers are durable and incredibly long-lasting. It is not uncommon for patients to have secure-fitting veneers for up to a decade before they need to be replaced.
Why might you need Dental Veneers?
If you’re ready to change the way that your smile looks, veneers can be highly beneficial to your goals. Before veneers are placed, Dr. Andrew Turchin will perform an exam and provide you with a consultation to determine if veneers are right for you. Most adult patients who would like veneers are easily able to have them made and placed to enhance their smile. Some reasons you may want dental veneers include:
- Your teeth are discolored and stained
- Your teeth are not uniform and uneven
- Your teeth have cracks, chips and small fractures
- You have spaces and gaps between your teeth
- You are unhappy with your smile and the way it looks
What makes you a candidate for Dental Veneers?
Before being considered for dental veneers, you’ll need to come in for a consultation and exam. The exam helps us determine if you would benefit from veneers. In some cases, additional restorative work is necessary before having veneers made and placed over your existing teeth. Veneers are custom-made for each patient, so they match your smile perfectly while enhancing it to perfection.
What can you expect during the procedure for Dental Veneers?
Veneers require little to no anesthesia and are relatively noninvasive in comparison to other procedures. You will first come in and have the front teeth filed and buffed down to make room for the veneers. Impressions are made and sent to a lab where the porcelain veneers are made for you. The veneers are then sent back to our office where you’ll come back in to have them placed. The veneers are adhered to the fronts of your teeth to create a long-lasting, durable bond. With proper hygiene and dental care, your new veneers can last for up to 10 years before you’ll need to come back to have them replaced. Because veneers are natural-looking, no one will be able to tell that you have veneers.
