Obstructive Sleep Apnea, or OSA, is caused by a collapse of the airway as we sleep thus causing one to stop breathing periodically. Snoring is a milder version where the airway is limited but not completely closed.

Sleep Apnea and snoring(the milder version) can have a huge impact on disease processes in your body besides the obvious decrease in sleep quantity and quality causing signs and symptoms of sleep deprivation for both you and your spouse. ¬†Cardiovascular disease, Atriral Fibrilation, High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, and Obesity are all known to be exacerbated by Sleep Apnea. Some estimates suggest the average person suffering from Sleep Apnea will pass away 7 years earlier then if they weren’t Apnic.¬†

Amazingly, 20% of Americans are estimated have Sleep Apnea and only 10% of those suffering are actually diagnosed. And of those diagnosed, about 50% don’t continue with treatment.

We are dedicated to helping change those horrible statistics with a proven screening, testing, education, treatment and followup protocol developed by the best minds in Sleep Medicine. Dr. Turchin is passionate about changing the landscape of sleep medicine in this valley and making the entire valley healthier one patient at a time.
